I am Ghazal Abbasi, an Iranian interdisciplinary artist, photographer, and poet based in Shiraz, Iran. My practice combines conceptual photography, artistic documentary photography, and video art, often exploring identity, memory, belonging, and the relationship between humans and their environments.
One of my strengths is my ability to translate theoretical questions and abstract ideas into visual narratives through symbolism, psychological inquiry, and experimentation with photographic imagery. With a background in photography and an interest in philosophy, literature, and cultural memory, I approach each project as both a visual and intellectual investigation. I work across research, image-making, and digital manipulation to create photographs that challenge familiar ways of seeing and invite viewers to reconsider their relationship with the image.
